How It All Started
A Vision Born at Summer Camp
The Tie Dye Hippie began as a God-given vision in a small art shed at Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp. What started as the excitement of Tie Dye Tuesday each summer planted a quiet dream in my heart.
Years later, I felt a strong pull to contribute to a financial campaign that Okoboji was organizing. That nudge on my heart became the spark that brought this dream to life. It was in that moment that The Tie Dye Hippie was truly born, blending purpose and passion into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Each piece is one of a kind and crafted with care from start to finish. From day one, giving back has been woven into every piece we make because this business was never just about clothing. Since opening the shop on July 4, 2014, we have committed to using this business to serve and give back. For years, a portion of every order supported Okoboji’s capital campaign. Today, that same percentage helps provide Rabecca & her village will clean water access, nutritious food and agricultural support, access to education and school supplies, healthcare and medical services, and more.
